Korean Army Stew (Budae jiggae)
Spicy, hearty, and downright comforting, Korean Army Stew—aka Budae Jjigae—is a beloved fusion of flavors and textures. Loaded with savory meats, chewy noodles, kimchi, and melty cheese, it’s the ultimate dish for chilly evenings or anytime you need a bold, satisfying meal. Ingredients – Sauce Mixture:

2 tbsp Korean chili flakes (gochugaru)

2 tbsp rice wine vinegar or mirin

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp garlic, minced

1/2 tbsp sugar

1/2 tbsp Korean chili paste (gochujang)

Black pepper, to taste
Instructions:

In a bowl, combine all sauce ingredients and mix well.

In a large pot, layer cabbage, green onions, white onions, kimchi, spam, hot dogs, tofu, instant ramen, rice cakes, or any ingredients you like.

Pour in anchovy stock and the prepared sauce mixture.

Cover the pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Place a slice of American cheese on top and cover until melted.
